The El Paso High School Tiger Pride Band is the oldest high school band program in El Paso, Texas. It is comprised of several ensembles in order to give students a well-rounded musical education with a wide array of experiences: The Tiger Pride Marching Band, The El Paso High School Wind Ensemble, The El Paso High School Jazz Ensemble, various chamber ensembles, and the Prestige Colorguard / Winterguard. As such, the program has a long and distinguished history of musical excellence, with regular first division ratings at marching, concert and Jazz contests; “Best in Class” awards; and numerous students earning positions in the TMEA All-Region and
All-State Bands.
Perhaps the Tiger Pride Band’s greatest legacy is its alumni. Many graduates of the band program have gone on to become renowned professional musicians and music educators (several of whom can be found on the “Tiger Band Hall of Fame” page). Others continue to be advocates and supporters of music and the arts in their communities. Here at El Paso High, we believe the true success of a band program lies with what its students continue to do after they graduate and the long-term, positive impact they have on the lives of others.
